1	Compared with sawn wood, LVL has many advantages that sawn wood does not have：
	(1) LVL can disperse and stagger the defects such as scab and crack of log, thus greatly reducing the influence on strength, making it stable in quality, uniform in strength, and less in material variability. LVL is the most ideal structural material to replace log. (2) Size can be adjusted at will, not affected by log shape and defects. (3) LVL can be sawed, planed, chiseled, tenoned, nailed and so on. (4) LVL has the properties of insect proof, anti-corrosion, fire-proof and water-proof, mainly due to the corresponding pretreatment or special adhesive in the production process. (5) LVL has strong seismic performance and shock absorption performance, as well as resistance to fatigue damage caused by periodic stress. (6) This product is green and pollution-free.
2	Production and application of LVL
	Veneer laminated timber, referred to as LVL, is a kind of veneer which is made of log by rotary cutting or planing. After drying and gluing, the veneer is assembled according to the grain or most of the grain, and then glued by hot pressing. It has the structural characteristics that the solid wood sawn timber does not have: high strength, high toughness, good stability, accurate specification, which is 3 times higher than the solid wood sawn timber in strength and toughness. This product can be used for building formwork components, building beams, car board, furniture, floor, room decoration wood keel and packaging materials, etc.
